Jude Powell is an English actor and filmmaker.

Jude, a 21-year-old from Lewisham, London, England, was brought up in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England. He abandoned his passion for acting at 12 years old in secondary school, where his school produced a short film submitted to the Into Film Awards. In 2017, they had the incredible opportunity to attend the Odeon in Leicester Square, London, where they walked the red carpet and met renowned actors such as Daniel Craig, Eddie Redmayne and Ed Skrein. 

 

He decided to join Deafinitely Youth Theatre from 2019 to 2024 and achieved the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Art Awards. After that, he enrolled in The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama for the BSL Acting Intensive course led by Paula Garfield MBE and Jenny Sealey MBE in July 2024. Currently, he is a member of the Hub of the National Youth Theatre.

As a filmmaker who creates short and feature-length films and documentaries, Jude strives for perfection and finds immense joy in bringing their creative vision to life. They particularly relish collaborating with both deaf and hearing crew members, as it enables them to effectively convey their ideas and engage in remarkable collaborative work. Although proficient in British Sign Language (BSL), there may be instances where they require an interpreter to ensure seamless communication with hearing individuals.
